Before You Use Roster Ready
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Roster Ready mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Roster Ready app or accessing the Roster Ready website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Roster Ready. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization or minor child, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization or that you are the parent or legal guardian of that minor.
Roster Ready reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Description of Service
Roster Ready is a mobile platform that connects youth softball coaches, players, and families. The Service allows coaches to post events (including tryouts, guest play opportunities, tournaments, and clinics), browse player profiles, and send connection requests. Players and families can browse events, express interest, submit guest play requests, and communicate with coaches.
Roster Ready is currently available on iOS. An Android version is in development.
Roster Ready is a communications platform. We do not control, endorse, or guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any events posted by coaches, the accuracy of any user-provided information, or the outcome of any interaction between coaches and players.
User Accounts
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account on Roster Ready. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Parents and guardians may create and manage accounts on behalf of youth players. By doing so, you represent that you are the legal parent or guardian of the child and that you consent to the collection and use of your child's information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Account Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating your account and to keep that information updated. Roster Ready is not responsible for problems caused by inaccurate profile information.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify Roster Ready immediately at contact@rosterready.org if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Account Termination
Roster Ready reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.
User Conduct
By using Roster Ready, you agree not to:
- Create a false or misleading profile, impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any team or organization
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm any other user
- Post spam, duplicate messages, or unsolicited promotional content
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by Roster Ready
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any other system
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically collect data from the Service without express written permission
- Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair Roster Ready's infrastructure
- Contact minors for any purpose outside the stated purpose of the Service, or in any way that is inappropriate, harmful, or contrary to the child's safety
Roster Ready reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any user who violates these standards, without prior notice.
Coach Responsibilities
Coaches who post events, accept players, or initiate connections through Roster Ready bear sole responsibility for those interactions and decisions.
Event Accuracy
Coaches agree to post accurate, complete, and up-to-date event information. This includes correct dates, locations, age groups, and any fees or requirements associated with events. Coaches must update or remove listings promptly when events change or are cancelled.
Player Selection
All roster decisions — including tryout evaluations, guest play selections, and tournament fill-in choices — are made solely by the coach. Roster Ready does not participate in, influence, or guarantee any roster decision. Coaches are responsible for conducting themselves professionally and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the policies of any governing athletic organization.
Communication Standards
Coaches using the messaging feature agree to communicate professionally and in good faith. Soliciting personal contact information from minors outside of the app is prohibited. Coaches bear responsibility for all messages sent from their accounts.
Background Checks and Certifications
Roster Ready does not verify coach credentials, background checks, certifications, or affiliations. Coaches are solely responsible for ensuring they meet all requirements imposed by leagues, associations, and applicable law. Players and families should conduct their own due diligence before engaging with any coach through the platform.
No Guarantee of Roster Placement or Team Selection
The Service is a communication tool that facilitates connections between coaches and players. Whether a player is selected, invited, or placed on a team is entirely within the discretion of the relevant coach. Roster Ready has no role in those decisions and makes no representations about the outcome of any connection, tryout, or guest play request.
Roster Ready does not guarantee the number, quality, or geographic distribution of available opportunities on the platform. The availability of events and open spots will vary over time.
Messaging
Roster Ready provides a direct messaging feature that allows coaches and players to communicate within the app. Messages are transmitted between users and are not actively monitored by Roster Ready in real time.
However, Roster Ready reserves the right to review message content in response to reported violations, legal requests, or suspected harmful conduct. By using the messaging feature, you acknowledge that your messages may be reviewed for these purposes.
All messaging must comply with our User Conduct standards above. Messages that constitute harassment, spam, solicitation of personal information from minors, or any other prohibited conduct may result in account suspension or termination.
Roster Ready is not responsible for the content of messages between users and does not mediate disputes arising from user communications. Users are encouraged to report concerning messages using the in-app reporting feature or by contacting contact@rosterready.org.
Intellectual Property
The Roster Ready name, logo, app design, website design, and all content created by Roster Ready are owned by Roster Ready and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from Roster Ready's proprietary materials without express written permission.
User Content
By posting content to Roster Ready — including profile information, event listings, and messages — you grant Roster Ready a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have the right to grant this license and that your content does not violate any third-party rights.
Roster Ready does not claim ownership of content you create. You retain all rights in your own content subject to the license granted above.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Roster Ready disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Roster Ready does not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from use of the Service will be accurate or reliable
- Any content posted by users is accurate, complete, or appropriate
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected
You use the Service at your own risk. Any reliance on information obtained through the Service is at your sole discretion.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Roster Ready, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits
- Failure to be selected for a team, tryout, or guest play opportunity
- Conduct of other users, including coaches and players
- Inaccuracy of event listings or user-provided information
- Any injury, harm, or dispute arising from an in-person event or interaction facilitated through the Service
In no event shall Roster Ready's total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) or the amount you paid to Roster Ready in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, Roster Ready's liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Changes to These Terms
Roster Ready may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Terms on this page and update the effective date. If we make material changes, we may also notify users via the app or email.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
